Client platform Participation Act is looking for new members

The Utrecht Participation Act Client Platform is looking for new members to represent the interests of people who use the Participation Act.

Do you recognize this? You receive a benefit from the social assistance (Participation Act) from the municipality. Things go well but sometimes not with e.g. the settlement, termination or suspension of the benefit. Employees of the department of work & income of the municipality do not understand your situation well. You receive unclear or no information. You are not the only one with these kinds of problems.

Would you like to talk to the municipality to see if some things can be arranged differently? That is possible! The Client Platform Participation Act Utrecht (CPU) is looking for members.

The CPU (www.clientenplatformutrecht.nl) is there for everyone who receives help or benefits through the Participation Act. The client platform lets the department of work & income of the municipality of Utrecht hear the voice of the people who fall under the Participation Act.

What are you going to do?

  • Together with the other members of the council, you collect issues that people on social assistance encounter
  • You participate in meetings with the CPU, the head of work & income and the alderman for work & income
  • Together with the other CPU members, you prepare meetings and think about how to reach as many people as possible with social assistance benefits in Utrecht.

What do you get in return?

  • You will receive a volunteer allowance equal to the amount you are allowed to keep in addition to a benefit
  • If you don't have one, you will be given a laptop to work on
  • You will be offered all kinds of courses in the field of the Participation Act, team building, etc.

What does the CPU ask of you?

  • You receive social assistance or you are looking for work
  • You are willing to spend 2-3 hours per week on the CPU
  • You are willing to work on solutions and not get stuck in complaints.
