This month, residents of social housing will receive the announcement of the annual rent increase. Every year, rents are increased on July 1. This year's increase is not bad, namely an average of 5,3%.
At a rent of around €600, this means an increase of just over €30 (!) per month, or more than €360 per year.
Change rent allowance
You can largely compensate for this financial setback by having the amount of rent allowance increased. To do this, you must post the new rent price on the website Myallowances.nl to adjust. This can be done by logging in with DigiD, then selecting 'Housing' in the menu with the heading 'Report change' and entering the new amounts there.
If you find this difficult, we or the employees of The Money Matter you please!
