Support for loved ones of people with unexplained behavior

From the Regional Knowledge Workshop Dealing with misunderstood behavior together (SOMO)A support program has been developed for relatives of people with challenging behavior. This program consists of one-on-one support and group support.

  • One-on-one: A family expert by experience is available for relatives throughout the Utrecht region. Relatives receive personal coaching, in which – if necessary – a family coach and/or family confidant can also be involved. For example, to assist with communication with the mental health care provider. The contact person is Marga Smit.   • Group: The Self-Direction & Recovery Support Centre organizes support groups for loved ones in Utrecht, with 8-12 participants per group. In these groups, loved ones can share experiences, find support, and receive practical tools to strengthen their own resilience. The contact person is Mine Durmaz.
