Education & study

Children, adolescents and young adults follow education for a large part of their lives to prepare themselves as well as possible for their future. Some enjoy their school time enormously, others do not like school or find it difficult.

On this page and the other education pages you will find information for parents, youth and young adults.

For parents. How your child experiences school also affects you. You may have questions or concerns. Many of your questions can be addressed to your child's school, Youth Health Care Utrecht, Primary Education Collaboration of Secondary Education Partnership. There may still be questions left after that. Feel free to ask them to the neighborhood team. We have contact with primary schools, secondary schools, special education and vocational education in Utrecht.

For young people/young adults. Are you studying at a MBO, HBO or university and are you dealing with, for example: debts, loneliness, fear of failure, unwanted pregnancy, addiction, stress or other things that make it difficult for you to study? Contact the neighbourhood team at your MBO, in your district. See the study page for more information.

Frequently Asked Questions

We not only help with questions and concerns about education, but also when there are tensions within the family. For example: money problems, arguments at home, unemployment, etc. We like to listen to your story and then make a plan together, in which we can include all the things that are going on in your family.

The neighbourhood team staff who work together with special education have a lot of experience with pupils with a physical or mental disability. As a result, they can offer you and your child good support.

We recommend that you and your school apply as soon as possible Appointment to do with the neighborhood team in your neighborhood. We work with you, your child's school, the truancy officer, youth doctor and other professionals to help your child go back to school. You are not alone!

Yes, that is certainly possible. As an MBO student you can go to the neighborhood teams of ROC Midden Nederland, MBO Utrecht or to the neighborhood team in your district. For more information, see the study page.

As a neighborhood team, we not only support parents and children, but also teachers, mentors and care coordinators. Together we ensure that children, young people and young adults can develop well. Do you have concerns about a student and would you like someone to think about this with you? Contact the neighborhood team.

The assistance of the neighborhood team is free.
